2016-17 PVIAC Indoor Track Championship Qualifying Update

Qualifying Standards Revision
If fewer than 24 athletes have qualified for any given event in the championship meet the fields for those events will be opened to anyone in the top 24 performances listed on’s TopConference Performances list. All ties for the 24th spot will be allowed in. This list can be viewed on by clicking on the REPORTS menu and going to the bottom of the blue menu boxes on the left side of the page.
If 24 or more athletes meet the published qualifying standard no additional “provisional qualifiers” will be brought in.
For example, the BOY’S HIGH JUMP appears to have fewer than 5 qualifiers at the current time. If this situation were unchanged by the end of the season the championship field would go as far down as 5’02” (Derek Girouard). The opening height would then become 1 increment higher than the lowest qualifier(s).
Please do not enter an athlete into the meet who has not achieved the qualifying mark or is not listed in the TOP 24 PERFORMANCES for that event! Check the championship meet Performance Lists posted on to see if “provisional qualifiers” have been added to the meet.
4X800 Relay
Since the 4X800 event is rarely run during the season there has always been a great deal of inaccuracy in projecting a seed time for that event. To avoid some of the messy situations that have occurred in the past, meet management is asking that you: 1) give great and careful thought to whether your 4X800 team should even be entered in a championship meet, and 2) attempt to calculate the most accurate seed time as possible if you do decide to enter the event.
Meet management reserves the right to pull slow or lapped teams off of the track as early as the second leg if necessary to prevent clogging up the track with slower runners. If possible (depending on time constraints) an unseeded (slow) section may be run.
As always, thank you for your cooperation in making this a great league!
