TWO LONG STANDING DISTANCE RECORDS BROKEN IN WEEK 4!!
PVIAC Week #4 saw the record drought end in convincing fashion as two of the oldest distance records were smashed. Cathedral's Mark Hegarty ran a 4:35.09 in the Valley Mile to break the record (4:37.7) set by Mohawk's David Burnham in 2001. Northampton's Alexander Sullivan broke the 10 year old Pioneer 1000 meter record of Chris Rigali (Holyoke-2:38.30) with his 2:36.53 National silver Standard time. In the 4X800 Relay Meet the Holyoke boys broke the Pioneer record with an 8:27.1 to eclipse Northampton's 8:27.3 from last year. Click here to see the National Gold and Silver Standards and the Massachuseets Bronze Standards lists.
